Why do I need to remove my wisdom teeth?

For most people it is beneficial to have their wisdom teeth removed simply because there is no space for them in their mouth without crowding their existing teeth.

Can two or more wisdom teeth extractions be performed the same day?

Yes, We can make even the four wisdom teeth extractions on the same day if required. This decision does not increase the risk or inconvenience to our patients because the wide experience of our high-trained oral surgeon associates.

Will I need to have x-rays taken?

In order to diagnose and treat any problems involving the teeth or jaw, X-rays are necessary. If you don’t have current X-rays, we can take X-rays here at Unidental.

Can I eat something before my surgery?

If you are going to have local anesthesia for your procedure, you may eat normally prior to your appointment. If you are going to be sedated for the oral surgery procedure, you should not eat or drink anything at least six hours before your surgery.

After surgery, will I need someone to drive me home?

Patients who receive local anesthesia can drive home themselves. Just in case you request IV Sedation, you will need someone to drive you home.

May I use my dental insurance at Unidental?

If you have oral surgery benefits on your dental insurance, we will gladly file and send the claims for you. You will be expected to pay on the day of surgery your deductible, and when apply the co-payment. We’ll need confirmation of payment of your insurance company before we proceed.
