Teeth Whitening… Will it hurt my teeth?

It will not hurt your teeth. The bleaching gel penetrates the pores of your teeth and removes the stains that have been accumulated over the years. Whitening has been proven to be completely safe and effective.

I’ve heard that it causes a lot of sensitivity. Does it?

The process can cause some sensitivity. Our research helps us find the actual formula, which contains fluoride and potassium nitrate, a known desensitizing agent acting like if they are clogging the pores of teeth, blocking transmission of sensitive nerve impulses and providing a calming effect. When some discomfort appears, usually it will dissipate in a day or two. If you already have sensitive teeth, we suggest using Sensodyne toothpaste prior and post procedure.

What kind of results should I expect?

While results vary from person to person, your smile will be noticeably whiter. With our systems, you can get up to eight shades whiter teeth. At Unidental, we’ll work hand in hand with you until you’re completely satisfied with your results.

How long will Whitening last?

That all depends on your genetics and habits. Following appropriate recommendations is the key to success. The in-office procedures should last up to 2 years or more. The Deep Bleaching system can last twice as long.

Could I just whiten my teeth with store-bought products?

You could try, but how satisfied would you be with the results? The trays in store-bought kits are generic and almost certainly will not fit your teeth. That means the whitening gel will be in uneven contact with your teeth, which will create uneven whitening. In any case, the gels are not as effective as professional-strength gels used for an in-office or at-home procedure.
