Dental implant placement process

Through a Radiographic, Tomographic study and a Dental Scan, we assess the bone condition and prepare a guide with which the Computer Guided Surgery will be performed.

We can divide the procedure into 3 sessions:

Depending on each case, it can be performed in one or two surgical stages. When the implant is placed in a single surgical phase, the implant is placed together with a connection component that remains in contact with the oral environment, called the healing abutment.

If the surgical procedure is carried out in two phases, the implant is inserted in the first phase, leaving it completely covered by gum for a period of approximately 3 months.

In the second phase, a small incision is made in the gum to check the good condition of the implant and make the connection of the abutment that remains in contact with the oral environment and will serve as a union for the future prosthesis.

The restortive phase consists of making a dental prosthesis that we’ll screw to the base of the implant. This phase can be performed approximately on the third month after the surgical phase.

Do dental implants hurt?

No. After we place the implant, you must wait a period of four to six months to achieve the integration (complete fixation) of the implant to the bone about 4 to 6 months.

Are implants placed in one session? How long does treatment normally take?

Yes. In one single session we will place the dental implants in your jawbone. The surgery takes about 2-3 hours at most.
